Sea Eagle Red

A large white belly sea eagle I photographed flying around Snapper island with a good sized red fish in its claws. The fish looks like a Nannygai or possibly a red emperor which are both deep sea fish normally found in waters deeper than 28 metres. Snapper island is a stones throw off the Daintree river mouth, North Queensland and is surrounded by coral reef. Although we caught plenty of fish on this fishing trip it is this photo which made the trip worthwhile for me as I continue the challenge of documenting magical moments in nature. The power of fragility.
