Everything here is from the forest floor. The large snails are symbolic of slow natural regeneration & the Leaf Katydid (leaf-eater) decides what to eat next. Obnoxious Beauty.
Limited edition of 50.
I sculpted the cassowary looking creature with my hands out of some wait-a-while. All the other plants were photographed between the road and rainforest where I often see these big birds. The image is called obnoxious beauty because all the plants in this picture are considered weeds. However many of them offer protection to vulnerable animals like the cassowary and kangaroos.

As you walk through the rainforest, patches of light penetrate through the canopy and stimulate your senses. An organic scape of visual delight. Time stands still and breathing has never felt so good. Take your time to allow creatures from within the shadows to appear. Sometimes you may only catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye allowing your imagination to run wild & free as the more you look, the more you see.

Cassowary Creek.
Open Edition.
I was lucky enough to take this photograph while walking down Coopers creek in the Daintree. Up to my knees in water I waited until the big bird came close enough to get the shot and it seemed rather peaceful as it searched the water for fish. Right time. right place. It is a known fact that they normally become invisible when you pull out a camera.

Bird Seed.
Limited edition of 50.
This bird is created out of the very things it eats and needs to survive. Many seeds and fruits in this artwork were found in a cassowary scat (poo) on the Kuranda range. There is no seperation between the Cassowary and the environment it inhabits. This big bird plays an important role distributing the seeds of the forest where ever it goes. Some of the fruits the cassowary eats are too toxic for other ?animals to eat. The cassowary helps instigate the germination of fruit trees it and other animals are dependant on. It also maintains biodiversity of many plant species within cassowary country.

Pricing and value of Limited editions
There is a positive investment incentive to purchase prints in a limited edition as early as possible. In time when prints in the edition start selling the value and purchase price goes up incrementally. Until 50% of the prints in a limited edition are sold the price stays the same. However, After this the price increases by 10% for each print sold. When 75% of an edition is sold the price goes up 20% each time another print is sold. After 90% of the edition is gone the price goes up 40%. When 95% of the edition is sold the price for a print is increased to over 80% of the previous one. Remember this is an increasing scale of acquisition and allows people to add to their collection of fine art with confidence. Knowing their art purchase will increase in value over time.
