Wallaby Creek…Summer Dayz in the undergrowth

There are more than 45 varieties of kangaroo in Australia and they range in size from the small rock wallaby to the 6-foot giant red kangaroo which can weigh up to 300 pounds.One popular rumor has it that when European explorers first saw these strange hopping animals they asked a local aboriginal man what they were called. He replied “kangaroo” meaning “I don’t understand” your question. The explorers thought this was the animal’s name. And that’s how the kangaroo got its name. Not sure if this is true, but that is stories for you.
